Elm Mount Chess Club is only 3 km North-East of O'Connell Street. The club is in the Ierne Sports and Social Club on Grace Park road. There is a large car park on the club grounds. By car or bike: Go north up O'Connell St. in Dublin, Ireland, around Parnell square, straight past the Teachers' club to Dorset St. lights. Turn right towards Drumcondra along the airport road. Continue for about 3 km, under the "Independant" railway bridge. Drumcondra road continues through a tree lined avenue. Go straight through the next lights at Botanic Ave. then the road crosses a small hump-backed bridge to a crossroads with lights where Drumcondra Rd. crosses Richmond Rd. Turn right down Richmond road then first left onto Grace Park road, and the club is on the right in the Ierne Sports and Social Club, upstairs.
By bus: Take any bus from the city centre towards Drumcondra, e.g. the number 3, 16, 33, 41, 41A and ask the driver to let you out at Richmond road or St. Pat's Teacher Training College. Turn right down Richmond road then first left onto Grace Park road, and the club is on the right in the Ierne Sports and Social Club, upstairs.
By train: Take the northbound Dart train from the city centre, e.g. from Connolly, to the Clontarf station, the first stop. When you come out of the Dart station turn left. After about 500 m the main road swings left and there is a Y junction. Take the right hand road of the Y-junction and walk for another 500 m. Take the second right hand turn at a petrol station down Richmond road then right onto Grace Park road after another 500 m, and the club is on the right in the Ierne Sports and Social Club, upstairs.
